Short Bio / Excerpt:
Anne de Loisy is a prominent French investigative journalist, documentary director, and author widely recognized for her deep-dive underground exposés and social justice reportage. Born in June 1973, she has spent over two decades working for top-tier French television programs, including Envoyé spécial, Zone interdite, and Des racines et des ailes, establishing a reputation for uncompromising data-driven journalism.
She first gained widespread attention with her groundbreaking debut book, Bienvenue en France ! (2005). The investigative work was born out of six months she spent working clandestinely for the Red Cross inside the secure transit zones of Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (Roissy), where undocumented immigrants are detained. Her book exposed severe institutional abuses of power, systemic mistreatment, and procedural errors within areas heavily shielded from mainstream media access, sparking critical national discussions on human rights.
Expanding her focus to corporate accountability, de Loisy subsequently directed her focus toward the intricacies of consumer safety and the mass-market agri-food sector. She spent three years conducting a comprehensive, undercover evaluation of the global meat supply chain. Navigating immense corporate pushback and strict slaughterhouse restrictions, she successfully penetrated highly guarded distribution networks by utilizing creative access strategies and examining strictly confidential expert audits.
This intensive tracking culminated in her highly acclaimed book, Bon appétit ! Quand l'industrie de la viande nous mène en barquette (2015), and a corresponding documentary feature for Envoyé spécial. Her findings pulled back the curtain on alarming food safety failures, including missing sanitary checks, preventable livestock diseases, and government inaction. The book served as a vital educational wake-up call regarding transparency in modern livestock trading, butchery practices, and industrial packing.
Today, Anne de Loisy continues to live and work in Paris, collaborating with multiple production houses—including Capa and Studio 89—to craft impactful investigative content. She remains an active and influential voice in contemporary media, leveraging literature and television to champion public interest, fight corporate opacity, and advocate for vulnerable populations.
